On January 21, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with the students of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the American University of Armenia. The Meeting was also attended by the Dean of the College Brain Ellison and Program Chair Vahram Ter-Matevosyan.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Minister Mnatsakanyan highly appreciated the importance of holding meetings and dialogue in such a format that provides a good opportunity to involve young professionals in various issues of foreign policy. In his remarks, Foreign Minister attached great importance to the role of the American University as an interdisciplinary training center.

Touching upon the peculiarities of the Diplomatic Service, Foreign Minister mentioned that it requires great responsibility, devotion, time and creativity.

Answering the questions of the students, Minister Mnatsakanyan presented foreign policy priorities of Armenia, touched upon regional and international issues as well as Armenia’s position and approaches towards them.

During the meeting, Vahagn Melikyan, the MFA Secretary-General and Brain Ellison, Dean of the College signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the American University of Armenia. The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to carry out research and analysis within the framework of programs related to the activities of the Ministry.
