Session of the Interagency Committee of the CWC was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia

On December 18, the session of the Interagency Committee (National Body), coordinating the activities to fulfill the obligations under the “Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction” /CWC/ established in accordance with the Decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia No 1765-A of 28 November, 2019, took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the participation of the representatives of stakeholder agencies. The session was presided by Mr. Armen Yedigarian, Head of the International Security Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

Within the session, the importance of the proper implementation of Armenia’s obligations under the CWC and, in this regard, the role and significance of the Interagency Committee’s effective and consistent work were emphasized.

During the session, the participants discussed current issues related to the CWC national implementation, outlined the roadmap of the further steps in that direction and adopted the timetable for Committee’s next meetings.
