Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova

On December 5, on the margins of the OSCE conference in Bratislava, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Aureliu Ciocoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova. 

Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated his Moldovan counterpart on the occasion of assuming the office and wished him success in his responsible mission. 

The interlocutors underscored the mutual willingness to undertake practical steps for strengthening Armenian-Moldovan relations, based on solid historical ties, and further enrichment of bilateral agenda. With this regard, the importance of enhancing the  dialogue on different levels, including through regular political consultations between the Foreign Ministries, was highlighted.

Both sides highly appreciated the role of the Armenian community of Moldova in the country's social and political life and in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. 

Along with intensifying traditional directions of cooperation, the Ministers highlighted the importance of initiating experience sharing programs in the spheres of IT, innovations and creative education. The sides emphasized the full use of the potential of parliamentary platform, as a step towards enriching the bilateral agenda.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova valued the level of cooperation between the two countries in multilateral platforms. In this context the sides touched upon the initiatives dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Eastern Partnership and exchanged views on the vision of the future of the initiative.

The Foreign Ministers also touched upon the issues of international and regional agenda. 

Touching upon Armenia’s foreign policy priorities, the Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his Moldovan counterpart on Armenia’s principled position on and approaches to the peace process of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
