Meeting of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with acting Foreign Minister of Albania Gent Cakaj

On December 5, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Bratislava on a working visit, met with Gent Cakaj, the acting Foreign Minister of Albania.

Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated his Albanian counterpart on the forthcoming assumption of the OSCE chairmanship, reiterating the support of the Armenian side to the Albanian chairmanship priorities.

The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on issues of cooperation within the OSCE and the challenges the Organization faces as well as the steps to address them.

In the course of the meeting, the Foreign Minister of Armenia presented the latest developments regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, reiterating Armenia’s priorities on the process of the peaceful settlement, presented in the Minister’s remarks at the OSCE Ministerial Conference a few hours before.

Within the context of bilateral relations, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia attaches great importance to developing relations with Albania in different levels and within different formats. Both parties underscored that there is a great potential for advancing the cooperation between Armenia and Albania, and it is necessary to work together to fully utilize it. The interlocutors outlined steps aimed at enriching bilateral agenda and advancing the political dialogue.
