Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Christopher Pincher, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas of the UK

On October 21, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in London on a working visit, met with Christopher Pincher, the newly appointed Minister of State for Europe and the Americas at the British Government.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted with confidence that all preconditions exist to raise the Armenia-UK relations to a qualitatively new level and to expand bilateral cooperation. 

In this context, the two sides highlighted the further expansion of the dynamic dialogue at all levels to fully utilize the potential of bilateral cooperation in different spheres.

Information technologies, High-Technologies, creative education, tourism and other spheres were mentioned as target areas of cooperation. The interlocutors' attached importance to the programs aimed at exchanging experience in these areas and intensifying people-to-people contacts.

The two sides exchanged views on the steps to secure a legal framework for co-operation in accordance with bilateral realities.

Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed his counterpart on the agenda of large-scale reforms implemented by the Government of Armenia, which are aimed at strengthening democracy, protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms. Effective cooperation with international partners was particularly emphasized in this process.

The sides touched upon a number of urgent issues on the international and regional agenda. In the context of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted the credible steps towards preparing peoples for peace.
