Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s meeting with Thomas Greminger, OSCE Secretary General

On September 26, in New York, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Thomas Greminger, OSCE Secretary-General.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the programs of cooperation between the OSCE Secretariat and the Foreign Ministry of Armenia. Minister Mnatsakanyan stressed that Armenia attaches importance to cooperation with the OSCE Secretariat in various fields.

The Interlocutors touched upon the opportunities of cooperation within the frameworks of the OSCE “Armenia Co-operation Programme”, as well as emphasized the implementation of joint programs on all three platforms of the OSCE.

At the request of the Secretary-General, FM of Armenia touched upon the current situation of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, particularly the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan with the mediation and participation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. 

Both sides praised the relative decline in tension in recent months. Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized that the Armenian side attaches great importance to continuous efforts to strengthen the ceasefire and reduce tension, including the introduction and strengthening of relevant mechanisms. The need for consistent steps to create an atmosphere of trust was also emphasized, including through the implementation of previous agreements.
