Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s meeting with Miroslav Lajčák, Foreign Minister of Slovakia and the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office

On September 26, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in New York for participation in the 74th session of the UNGA, met with Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia and the OSCE Chairman in Person. 

Welcoming the successful chairmanship of Slovakia in the OSCE, minister Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed Armenia's support to priorities of Slovakia's chairmanship in building a secure future and effective multilateral diplomacy. 

The parties highlighted the important steps towards increasing the effectiveness of the OSCE, emphasizing the necessity to address the challenges faced by the organization in a cooperative manner and expressed firm determination for the implementation of the OSCE toolkit.

Foreign Minister of Armenia presented to his counterpart the ambitious agenda of reforms, implemented by the Government of Armenia, particularly emphasizing the continuous support of the OSCE structures in that process. 

On the request of Minister Lajčák, Armenia’s Foreign Minister touched upon the current situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, including the September 23 meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart in New York under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. Presenting Armenia's principled stance and approaches, Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted the importance of broadening and strengthening Artsakh's sense of ownership towards the process.
