Armenian Foreign Minister’s meeting with his counterpart of Tunisia

On September 24, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in New York on a working visit, met Khemaies Jhinaoui, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia.  

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Tunisia discussed a broad range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, reiterating the readiness to make joint efforts aimed at expanding and strengthening the current agenda. With this regard, the importance of expanding the bilateral legal framework and conducting regular political consultations between the Foreign Ministries was emphasized.  

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Tunisia had a detailed conversation on the activities of the International Organization of La Francophonie, which serves as a productive platform of cooperation between the states, that share the values of La Francophonie. They also exchanged views on preparations for the forthcoming Summit of La Francophonie to be held in Tunisia next year. Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that as a country that assumed the presidency of La Francophonie Summit, Armenia emphasizes the importance of the close cooperation of the OIF with international and regional organizations such as the UN, UNESCO, CoE. 

Foreign Minister of Armenia presented to his Tunisian counterpart achievements of Armenia in the fields of information technologies, smart development, creative education, and innovation, emphasizing the importance of implementing projects with the engagement of stakeholders concerned, for the full use of collaboration potential in those directions.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Khemaies Jhinaoui commended the effective cooperation and mutual support at international and regional organizations.
