Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan’s meeting with Rosemary A. DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General of the UN

On September 24, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in New York to participate in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, met Rosemary A. DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.

The interlocutors highly appreciated the active and productive cooperation between Armenia and the UN structures and expressed their readiness to continue the joint efforts aimed at its deepening and expansion.

Foreign Minister of Armenia presented the large-scale reforms of the Government, based on the broad popular mandate, in the fields of judiciary, rule of law, human rights, democracy, and sustainable development. The importance of providing favourable conditions for the economic revolution was emphasized. Foreign Minister of Armenia highlighted the active engagement of youth and women in those processes.

The interlocutors exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues.

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, Minister Mnatsakanyan informed Rosemary A. DiCarlo about the meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the  Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan the day before, as well as presented the principal position and approaches of Armenia in the exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict.
