The meeting of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with Saulius Skvernelis, the Prime Minister of Lithuania

On September 16, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Lithuania on an official visit, was received by Saulius Skvernelis, the Prime Minister of Lithuania.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Minister Mnatsakanyan conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Lithuanian Prime Minister. Minister Mnatsakanyan and Prime Minister Skvernelis commended the high-level partnership and dialogue between Armenia and Lithuania, reiterating their determination to maintain this dynamic and deepen cooperation.

Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that his visit to Vilnius is a good opportunity to discuss the prospects of cooperation in areas of mutual interest and to outline further steps. In this context, the interlocutors touched upon the expansion of cooperation in the spheres of e-management, information technologies, financial technologies, biotechnologies, creative education, and other fields, as well as the initiation and implementation of projects aimed at exchanging experience between Armenia and Lithuania.

Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed the Prime Minister of Lithuania on the agenda of large-scale reforms implemented by the Government of Armenia.

Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulis Skervnelis exchanged detailed views on bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the frames of Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement. In the context of promoting people-to-people contacts, Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed gratitude for Lithuania's resolute support in launching the visa liberalization dialogue with EU members.

Foreign Minister of Armenia drew the attention of the interlocutor to the preparations of the World Congress on Information Technology 2019 to be held in Armenia and expressed hope that the Government of Lithuania and leading companies will have their active participation in this event.

In the context of the regional issues, the parties emphasized the need to maintain and strengthen the peace and stability of the South Caucasus.
