Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan receives US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Laura Cooper

On September 11, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the delegation led by Laura Cooper, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that further strengthening and deepening of friendly relations and partnership with the United States have been and still are among Armenia's foreign policy priorities. The interlocutors agreed that this visit is a good opportunity to discuss the possibilities to further strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries on global and regional peace and security.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense commended the continued Armenia-US cooperation within the framework of NATO's Partnership for Peace program and the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan.

Minister Mnatsakanyan presented Armenia’s foreign and security policy priorities, Armenia’s principled position and approach to the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this regard, the Minister commended the efforts of the US and other OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, which are аimed at the peaceful resolution of the conflict.
