Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the delegation headed by Eleni Kounalakis, the Lieutenant Governor of California

On July 29, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received a delegation led by Eleni Kounalakis, the Lieutenant Governor of California, which consisted of Kathryn Barger, the member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Dominick Moreno, the member of the Colorado Senate, Daneya Esgar, the member of the Colorado House of Representatives, Paul Boyer and Otoniel Navarette, the members of the Arizona State Senate. The visit was organized by the Armenian National Committee of America - Western Region.

Welcoming the guests in Armenia, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that relations with the United States have been and remain one of the country’s foreign policy priorities. The sides commended the recent dynamics of the Armenia-U.S. friendly relations and partnership and underscored the mutual readiness to contribute to strengthening and broadening of bilateral agenda, including in the spheres of science, education, innovation, information technologies, trade-economic and others.

The parties highly valued the role of the Armenian community in California's public and political life as a unique bridge aimed at strengthening relations and ties between Armenia and the United States.

Foreign Minister of Armenia touched upon the recent developments in Armenia, the process of reforms implemented by the Government and the country's foreign policy priorities. Minister Mnatsakanyan presented to the interlocutors Armenia's principled position on and approaches to the process of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
