Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan's meeting with Archil Talakvadze, the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia.

On July 25, while on an official visit to Georgia, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and members of his delegation met with Archil Talakvadze, the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia. George Volsky, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia and Head of Georgia-Armenia Friendship Group, Sofio Katsarava, the Chair of the Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, Ruslan Poghosyan and Samvel Manukyan, the members of Georgia-Armenia Friendship Group also attended the meeting.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception Minister Mnatsakanyan reiterated Armenia's commitment to further strengthen Armenian-Georgian centuries-old friendly relations. Within this context, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Archil Talakvade commended the active role of parliamentary diplomacy as an effective platform between the legislative bodies of Armenia and Georgia. The Foreign Minister and the Parliament of Parliament of Georgia also highlighted the importance of holding regular meetings between the relevant committees of the parliaments of two countries.

The interlocutors particularly stressed the important role of the Georgian-Armenian community in the social-political life of Georgia, as well as in the further rapprochement of the two neighboring and friendly peoples and states.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Archil Talakvadze exchanged views on regional stability and security issues. Foreign Minister presented Armenia's principled position to and approaches on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, underscoring the priority of creating an environment conducive to the advancement of peace process.

Following the meeting Minister Mnatsakanyan made a note in the Book of Honorable Guests of the Georgian Parliament.
