On July 5,  Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Ashot Ghulyan, the President of the National Assembly of Artsakh. Arzik Mkhitaryan, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Artsakh and Davit Melkumyan, the Deputy Chairman of the same committee, also participated in the meeting.

Expressing gratitude for warm reception Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized the importance of regular contacts and mutual visits between Armenia and Artsakh at different levels, which gives an opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and outline further steps in that direction.

The interlocutors highlighted the close cooperation between Armenia and Artsakh in many areas, in this regard, emphasizing the role of parliamentary diplomacy and the importance to fully realize its potential.

The sides also touched upon issues of expanding and deepening the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora partnership.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia briefed the Speaker of the Parliament of Artsakh and the Parliamentarians on the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. In terms of ensuring the effectiveness of the peace process,  the importance of the decisive voice and engagement of Artsakh, as the main subject of the conflict, was highlighted.

The interlocutors exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues.
