Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with Demetris Syllouris, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus

On June 4, within the framework of his working visit to Cyprus,Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Demetris Siluris, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus.

The interlocutors commended the positive dynamics in bilateral relations, underscoring that regular reciprocal visits and meetings give a new impetus to the Armenian-Cypriot multifaceted cooperation and to the advancement of political agenda.

"We are bound by strong civilization ties, which are based on the centuries-old friendship of our peoples. Our commitment is to undertake practical steps to further develop and significantly improve relations between our two countries," Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted.

Among the others, the interlocutors highlighted, among the others, the fields of tourism, high technologies, creative education, and energy security as important areas of cooperation, which have prospects for expanding cooperation both in bilateral and trilateral, Armenia-Greece-Cyprus format.

Emphasizing the importance of establishing a parliamentary platform for Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral cooperation, the parties expressed hope that it can provide the necessary framework for the effective development of practical cooperation. In this regard, the interlocutors commended the close cooperation established within the framework of various international organizations, in particular the joint efforts to promote the agenda of the Genocide Prevention.

Touching upon the Armenia-EU relations, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan highlighted the Comprehensive and Enhanced  Partnership Agreement and emphasized the possibilities of cooperation with Cyprus within that agreement.
