On June 1,  in Ashgabat, political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Turkmenistan with the participation of delegations headed by Deputy Ministers Shavarsh Kocharyan and Wepa Hajyýew, respectively.  

At the meeting, the perspectives of development of bilateral political relations and cooperation in international and regional organizations were discussed.

The sides agreed to conduct inventory of bilateral legal framework.

Within the context of discussions on trade and economic cooperation, the importance of intergovernmental commission's activities was highlighted and the prospects of regional cooperation in the multilateral format were touched upon.

During the consultations, both sides commended the existing level of collaboration in cultural and humanitarian sphere, and highlighted the importance of interparliamentary cooperation.
