Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Hakob Arshakyan met with the representatives of around 60 Armenian tech companies

On May 3, in the Engineering City Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, and Hakob Arshakyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, had a meeting with representatives of around 60 Armenian companies of hi tech industry.

During the meeting the sides focused on issues related to the export of high tech production to international markets, development of effective tools for cooperation in international platforms and concretization of goals and spheres, the legal procedures for access to international market, as well as a number of other issues.

Hakob Arshakyan considered it symbolic that the meeting takes place at the Engineering City since this summer the construction of the Engineering City will commence thus creating an opportunity to combine the technological potential. As a result, the companies will be able to cooperate even closer as well as utilize the opportunities granted by the Government of Armenia in the field.

Minister Arshakyan noted that the sphere of high technologies is a priority for the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Referring to the existing opportunities and the potential, Hakob Arshakyan emphasized that the borders in the world of technology are already blurred, and large-scale issues are solved through cooperation. Talking about the goal of the meeting, the Minister of Transport, Communication, and Information Technologies noted that the demands of the technological community need to be clearly defined; what tool sets can be used to acquire access into international cooperation platforms? What constitutes efficient collaboration?

In his speech, Minister Mnatsakanyan underscored that the agenda for the development of innovation and high tech is among the priorities of the Armenia’s foreign policy. In his words, bilateral and multilateral formats provide numerous opportunities to establish relevant platforms to present the capacity of private companies to our international partners as well as outline new prospects for cooperation.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan emphasized that the private sector of the tech field is quite organized and united - it can act through unified approaches, creating an opportunity to determine our mutual goals.

During the dynamic discussion that emerged at the meeting, clarifications were provided to several questions raised, approaches to several issues as well as opportunities for efficient operation were emphasized. An agreement was reached to continue meeting in such format.
