The visit of the Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan to Engineering City

On April 22, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan visited the "Engineering City".

"Engineering City" has been created within the framework of state-private cooperation. The program envisages training and retraining of 1500 highly qualified specialists in this sphere, creating 2000 new job opportunities, establishing Start-ups, increasing the efficiency of organizations’ activities and boosting export volumes.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan took a tour in the center, he was introduced to the concept of "Engineering city", the latest engineering solutions of operating companies and product models. Bagrat Yengibaryan, Director of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), accompanied the Minister.

The interlocutors commended the development of IT sector which provides an opportunity to focus more on local production. The role of the sphere was highlighted in terms of creating favorable preconditions for the development of engineering and science as well as training highly demanded specialists.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia underscored that the smart development agenda of the Government is one of the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy and with that regard Armenia has much to say to the IT sphere.

Both sides emphasized the need of promoting mutually beneficial cooperation for considering new opportunities of presenting the Armenian production on international platforms and identifying new markets.

The Minister also visited the museums of Cosmos, Science and Technology, as well as made a note in the Book for Honorary Guests.
