Foreign Minister of Armenia met with Minister of ICT and Innovation of Rwanda

On April 7, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Kigali on an official visit, met with Paula Ingabire, Minister of ICT and Innovation of Rwanda.

The interlocutors agreed that first official visit of the Armenian Foreign Minister to the African continent is a good opportunity to outline steps towards expanding the multifaceted cooperation with the countries of the region and, particularly, with Rwanda.

Underscoring the importance of fully utilizing the existing potential of relations between Armenia and Rwanda, Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted the spheres of innovation, smart solutions, information technology and creative education as priority directions. Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that engaging Armenian IT representatives in his delegation is another important step to outline the prospects of cooperation between Armenia and Rwanda in these spheres through the substantial exchange of views.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his interlocutor on the preparations for the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Yerevan in October and expressed hope that Rwandan companies will have their active engagement in the congress.
