Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the Assistant Administrator of United Nations Development Program in Armenia

On March 18, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Mirjana Spoljaric, Assistant Administrator of United Nations Development Program in Armenia, Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS.

Welcoming the first visit of the UNDP Assistant Administrator Mirjana Spoljaric to Armenia Minister Mnatsakanyan commended more than 25 years of UNDP`s activities  in Armenia highly appreciating the consistent multifaceted cooperation unfolded within the UNDP framework.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia reiterated the readiness of the Armenian side to take steps towards strengthening and broadening the partnership in favor of nationalization and implementation of  Sustainable Development Goals in Armenia.

Touching upon the domestic political developments in Armenia and the reforms initiated by the Government based on a strong popular mandate, Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized the importance of effective cooperation with international partners, including the United Nations Development Program. The interlocutors outlined the framework of collaboration with the UNDP for promoting the development agenda of Armenia and its priorities: IT, innovation and creative education-based economy.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia also briefed on preparations for the 23rd World Congress on Information Technology to be held in Yerevan in October.
 
At the end of the meeting Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan was handed the letter of UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner on appointing Dmitry Maryasin as a UNDP Coordinator in Armenia.
