Foreign Minister of Armenia met the PACE co-rapporteurs

On March 14, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Yuliya Liovochkina and Andrej Šircelj, the PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs on Armenia.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the effective cooperation established between Armenia and Council of Europe as an additional platform for promoting Armenia’s development agenda through consolidated efforts and exchange of experience and knowledge.

In regard to the challenges the Organization faces, Minister Mnatsakanyan reiterated Armenia’s full supports to the efforts aimed at addressing them.

At the request of the interlocutors, the Foreign Minister of Armenia touched upon the recent internal political developments in Armenia and underlined that the Government, through its clear actions, has proven its political will to implement the reforms initiated on the basis of broad mandate given by people in April, May and reaffirmed in parliamentary elections in December. As a Government’s priority, Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted favorable conditions for the economic revolution.

Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan presented Armenia’s foreign policy priorities, the approaches and principled position of the Armenian side on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. In this context, the sides underlined the importance of the establishment of environments conducive to peace and the introduction of risk reduction mechanisms.
