Foreign Minister’s meeting with the OSCE Chairperson-in-office

On March 13, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan. Foreign Minister of Armenia, met with Miroslav Lajčák, the OSCE Chairperson-in-office and the Foreign Minister of Slovakia, who is in Armenia on a working visit.

Minister Mnatsakanyan welcomed Miroslav Lajčák’s visit to Yerevan, emphasizing its importance in a time when, as a result of abuse of the Organization’s consensus principle, the OSCE presence in the South Caucasus has been minimalized. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan reiterated Armenia’s readiness to support the priorities of the Slovak OSCE Chairmanship and to cooperate in all three dimensions to advance dialogue on the Organization’s agenda issues.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia commended the current effective cooperation within the OSCE framework for the advancement of the ongoing reforms agenda in Armenia. Both sides emphasized the importance of steps aimed at increasing the efficiency of the OSCE and the need to address the challenges faced by the organization in a cooperative spirit

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan  reiterated Armenia's commitment and support to the exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. In this regard, both sides highlighted the introduction of risk reduction and incident prevention mechanisms, and confidence-building measures.
