Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Sudan

On February 16, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of Sudan, al-Dirdiri Mohammed Ahmed.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Sudan exchanged thoughts on the prospects of developing and enhancing the bilateral agenda. The Foreign Minister of Armenia identified the fields of creative education, innovation and high technologies as the primary direction, with that regard underlining the willingness of the Armenian side to initiate programmes aimed at expertise-sharing.

The Foreign Ministers attached importance to the role of the small yet active Armenian community of Sudan in the process of strengthening the bilateral agenda.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that the enhancement of its relations with the states of the African continent is among the important foreign political priorities of Armenia, and added that the Armenian side is willing to initiate practical steps in that direction to develop and deepen multifaceted cooperation.

The interlocutors also referred to the prospects of developing cooperation within the frameworks of international platforms.

While touching upon the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed the commitment of the Armenian side to the exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.
