Bilateral consultations on consular affairs between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Georgia

On February 15, bilateral consultations on consular affairs between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and Georgia were held in the MFA of Armenia.

Welcoming the delegation of Georgia, the Head of Armenian delegation, Director of Consular Department of MFA of Armenia Vladimir Karmirshalyan, pointed out constructive and fruitful cooperation existing between the Foreign Ministries and Embassies of the two countries. In his turn, the Head of Georgian delegation, Director of Consular Department of the MFA of Georgia Georgy Tabatadze, expressed gratitude for hospitality and mentioned in his word, that there are no consular issues on bilateral agenda which cannot be solved through negotiations and they have arrived in Yerevan on this purpose.

During the consultations the sides discussed issues of mutual interest related to various important topics of consular affairs, including protection of rights and legal interests of the citizens of Armenia and Georgia, touched upon consular relations with European Union and neighboring countries.

The delegation of Georgia was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan. Both sides expressed their willingness to arrange such meetings on a regular basis. An agreement was made to hold the next consultations in Tbilisi.
