Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of Riigikogu

On February 8, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan within the framework of his official visit to Tallinn met with Marko Mihkelson, the Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu), along with members of the committee.

The sides emphasized the importance of the development of cooperation between the two countries through the parliamentary format, an important platform for the promotion of the bilateral agenda, and noted that practical steps to be taken in that direction.

At the request of the Estonian parliamentarians, Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the foreign policy priorities of Armenia as well as the recent political developments in Armenia. In that regard, the Minister outlined that through its actions the government has proved its political will to implement the reforms initiated on the basis of wide mandate of the people.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia presented to the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee the achievements of Armenia in the spheres of innovation and digital technologies, as well as development of creative education, by emphasizing the importance of expertise-sharing and deepening of cooperation in those fields. In this regard, Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan highly valued the meetings and discussion held during his visit with the leading Estonian experts and officials in the fields of high tech and digital technologies, expressing hope that those would serve as a good foundation for initiating practical and mutually beneficial projects.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Marko Mihkelson exchanged thoughts on the cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, highlighting the importance of the Eastern Partnership as a useful platform for the participating countries in establishing cooperation with the European Union and its member states.
