The meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Estonia

On February 8, while on an official visit to Tallinn, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Sven Mikser, Foreign Minister of Estonia.

 Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Sven Mikser exchanged thoughts on the multifaceted collaboration between the two countries and the possibilities of further expanding and enriching the Armenian-Estonian agenda. Both sides underscored that the centuries old friendship between the two peoples serves as a solid foundation for undertaking practical steps towards full utilization of the existing potential.

 Speaking about the meetings held during the visit and their outcome Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted the importance of engaging the representatives of high technologies and e-governance sphere in his delegation, which gave an opportunity to hold practical discussions with the representatives of the Estonian leading companies, to learn about achievements of the Estonian side and the services provided. Foreign Ministers of two countries shared the view that the sphere of high technologies and creative education has a big potential, which through joint efforts can open new prospects of  effective and mutually beneficial cooperation .

 Touching upon the issues of the Armenia-EU relations the Foreign Minister of Armenia stressed the importance of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU in the context of implementing ongoing reforms in Armenia and advancing the Government's development agenda. Both counterparts highlighted the cooperation within the Eastern Partnership as a platform for diverse contacts and initiatives based on shared values ​​and outlined objectives.

 The sides also commended the existing cooperation and reciprocal support between the two countries in the international fora.

 During the meeting, Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Estonia discussed a number of pressing regional and international issues .

 Zohrab Mnatsakanyan briefed Sven Mikser on the position and stance of Armenia  with regards to the exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized the importance of creating an environment conducive to peace underscoring the need to refrain from  aggressive rhetorics and steps leading to the increase the tension.
