The meeting of Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with the Prime Minister of Estonia

On February 8, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Tallinn on an official visit, was received by Juri Ratas, the Prime Minister of Estonia.

 The interlocutors discussed in details a wide range of issues related to the cooperation between Armenia and Estonia, highlighting that the centuries-old friendly ties between the two peoples created a solid foundation for further enrichment of the bilateral agenda and for raising its trade and economic element to a qualitatively new level.

 The Prime Minister of Estonia and the Foreign Minister of Armenia exchanged views on the partnership between Armenia and the European Union. In that regard, Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan assessed his visit to Estonia as symbolic, to a country that was the first to ratify the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union. The Foreign Minister of Armenia added that CEPA, which is a new legal foundation for the partnership between Armenia and Estonia, is an important tool for the promotion of the government’s development agenda.

 The Foreign Minister also presented to the Prime Minister the internal political developments of Armenia, highlighting the commitment of the government to initiate an enhanced development agenda axised on the advancement of innovation and technology-driven economy. Referring to the achievements of Armenia in the fields of high technologies and creative education, and drawing parallels with the expertise of Estonia in this field, Mr. Mnatsakanyan expressed his confidence, that it will be possible to launch numerous mutually beneficial projects through joint activities and initiatives.

Minister Mnatsakanyan presented to Prime Minister Ratas the preparational works for the World Congress on Information Technology that will take place in Armenia in 2019 and expressed hope that the leading Estonian companies will take part in that event.
