Ambassador Papikyan presented his letters of credence to the Director-General of the UNOV and Executive Director of the UNODC

On January 29, Armen Papikyan, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the UN Office in Vienna and other international organizations, has presented his letters of credence to Yury Fedotov, the Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV) and Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Yury Fedotov congratulated Ambasador Papikyan on assuming the office, wished him every success and expressed conviction that during his tenure the cooperation of Armenia with the UN Office in Vienna will become even more intensive and effective.

The Director-General presented to Ambassador Papikyan the events dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the UNOV, which will be held in May and will be attended by numerous guests, including the UN Secretary General.

Yury Fedotov also touched upon the projects of the UN Office on Drug and Crimes and the upcoming big events, particularly highlighting in this context the Ministerial segment of the 62nd session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs which will be held in Vienna on March 14-15.

Expressing gratitude for the best wishes Ambassador Papikyan assured of his readiness to apply all the necessary efforts towards further enlarging and deepening Armenia’s cooperation with the UN Office in Vienna and all the bodies and commissions working under the aegis of UNOV.
