The Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented the copies of his credentials to the acting Foreign Minister of Armenia

On January 14, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, acting Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Muhammetgeldy Ayazov, newly appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan, on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Welcoming the guest, acting Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated Ambassador Ayazov on the start of his diplomatic mission in Armenia. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan reiterated Armenia's commitment to further deepen and expand the Armenian-Turkmen cooperation in various spheres, expressing confidence that the newly appointed Ambassador will have his significant input in that process. With this regard, the parties highlighted the importance of maintaining the dynamics of bilateral meetings on different levels as well as high level mutual visits. The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan highly appreciated mutually beneficial cooperation established on multilateral platforms.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda, emphasizing the development of trade and economic relations, deepening of humanitarian and cultural ties as important directions. In that context, the activities of Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Interparliamentary Friendship Group, as well as regular consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries were emphasized.

The Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed the newly appointed Ambassador on the recent political developments in Armenia, by highlighting the development agenda as a priority direction of the Government.

The sides also exchanged views on a number of regional issues. Acting Minister Mnatsakanyan presented Armenia's approaches and priorities regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
