Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Estonia

On December 6th, while on a working visit in Milan to participate in the 25th OSCE Ministerial Council, acting Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan met with Foreign Minister of Estonia Sven Mikser.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to interaction within bilateral and multilateral formats, highlighting their readiness to enrich the bilateral agenda and to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. In this context, the interlocutors prioritized the spheres of high technology and innovation, by highlighting the importance of creating platforms and initiating relevant programs for exchanging experience.

Referring to the latest domestic political developments in Armenia, the acting Foreign Minister presented the government’s tangible accomplishments and positive developments towards the implementation of reforms based on a broad popular mandate, highlighting the organization of fair elections in line with international standards as an important milestone in this process.

The sides touched upon the prospects of strengthening cooperation in international fora and within parliamentary formats.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Estonia also touched upon the partnership between Armenia and the European Union. The interlocutors shared the view that the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership is a good opportunity for evaluating achievements made in this format and for imbuing existing cooperation with new substance.
