Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller

On December 4th, Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Rose Gottemoeller emphasized the cooperation established in various spheres within the framework of the NATO-Armenia Individual Partnership Action Plan. The NATO Deputy Secretary General highly valued Armenia’s active participation in peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan and Kosovo. Minister Mnatsakanyan, in turn, stressed the importance of Armenia’s contribution to international efforts aimed at preserving peace.

At the request of the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mnatsakanyan presented the Armenian side’s priorities related to the resolution process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, emphasizing that people are the principal beneficiaries of a peaceful settlement and that their fundamental security is at the core of the issue.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on increasing women’s role in the establishment of peace within the framework of UN resolution 1325, as well as finalizing Armenia’s national action plan for the implementation of the resolution.
