Zohrab Mnatsakanyan took part in the World Forum for Democracy

On November 21, the Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan participated in the World Forum for Democracy on the topic of “Women, security and democratization” held in Strasbourg. Opening speeches were made by the Foreign Minister of Croatia, Marija Pejčinović Burić and the Foreign Minister of Finland, Timo Soini.

Representatives from over 100 countries were present at the event, including high-ranking Council of Europe officials, scientists, politicians, specialists, and students. The discussions held during the Forum were primarily related to women’s rights and gender equality.

Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan made a speech during the event.

Notice: the World Forum for Democracy was founded in 2012 and is organized by the Council of Europe with the support of the municipal leadership of Strasbourg and the French Government. The Forum provides a platform for dialogue and innovation in the sphere of democratic governance and contributes to the promotion of the principles of the Council of Europe. During the Forum, discussions are held around the contemporary challenges democracy faces and their possible solutions.
