Foreign Minister of Armenia met with Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia

On October 10, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong, who was in Armenia to participate in the 17th summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

Minister Mnatsakanyan lauded the ongoing close cooperation on issues of mutual interest within international platforms, adding that such cooperation is a good basis for the furthering of the bilateral agenda between the countries. In this regard, the two emphasized the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed in New York concerning the holding of political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries.

The Armenian Foreign Minister noted that the further development of relations with the countries of Southeast Asia is among Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and that the opportunities provided by multilateral formats are being fully utilized to this end.

Both sides stressed the importance of the International Organization of La Francophonie as a good platform for the deepening of ties between member states. In this context, the two exchanged thoughts on the work plan of the 17th OIF summit, expected resolutions, as well as other events within the framework of La Francophonie. Minister Mnatsakanyan also briefed his colleague on the main priorities of Armenia’s presidency in the organization.
