Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova

On October 9, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia met with Tudor Ulianovschi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, who had arrived to Armenia within the frameworks of the 35th Ministerial Conference of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova focused on the issues of the bilateral agenda. Underlining the recent positive dynamics in the Armenian-Moldovan relations, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova emphasized the necessity of continuous and consistent work towards expanding the cooperation.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented to his Moldovan colleague the political developments that took place in Armenia as well as the course of reforms. Highlighting the agenda of promotion of innovation and information technologies as the priority of the government, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia attached importance to the promotion of bilateral cooperation and implementation of joint projects in these directions.

Within the context of discussion around the high level of the organization of the 35th session of the Ministerial Conference and the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Moldova exchanged thoughts concerning the envisaged decisions and documents within those frameworks.

The interlocutors pointed out the multilateral format as a an important platform for collaboration around issues of mutual interest, particularly underlining the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan presented to his counterpart the foreign policy approaches and priorities of Armenia around a number of international and regional issues, touched upon the position of the Armenian side with regards the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
