Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland

On September 28, in New York, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of United Nations General Assembly, a meeting took place between Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Timo Soini, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland.

The interlocutors discussed the practical steps towards further expanding the bilateral agenda. In this respect, they stressed the importance of the frequent nature of consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and the inclusiveness of the agenda.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented the recent internal political developments in Armenia as well as the reforms that the Government is carrying out based on the wide mandate given by the people. Referring to the Government’s development agenda and Armenia’s achievements in its primary direction, the sphere of innovations and high technologies, Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia greatly values the formation of platforms for sharing with its international partners the expertise and the initiation of respective projects in that particular field.

The Ministers exchanged views regarding a number of regional and international issues. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented to his Finnish counterpart Armenia’s position and approaches in the process of settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
