Meeting of Foreign Minister of Armenia with the UN Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate

On September 28, in New York, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of United Nations General Assembly, a meeting took place between Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, the Foreign Minister of Armenia and Michèle Coninsx, the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED).

During the meeting, the sides discussed the international efforts in the fight against terrorism and the necessity to further expand and deepen them, touched upon, in this context, the contribution made by Armenia. The interlocutors exchanged views on cooperation within the frameworks of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 as well as other international documents.

Minister Mnatsakanyan reiterated Armenia’s commitment to consistently cooperate with its international partners in the fight against terrorism, radicalism, sowing of hatred and xenophobia, at the same time promoting the idea of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
