Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Greece

On September 27, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly taking place in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with his Greek counterpart Nikos Kotzias.

The interlocutors had a substantial discussion regarding numerous issues of the rich Armenian-Greek agenda, outlined joint steps towards further development and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation. In this context, the Ministers stressed the importance of the frequent nature of high-level mutual visits, which indeed reflects the high level of the political dialogue established between the two friendly states. Both sides underlined the special role of the Armenian and Greek communities in Greece and Armenia in the process of further deepening the friendship between the two countries.

The two sides expressed their readiness to continue the cooperation and coordination of positions on multilateral platforms.

Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan presented to his colleague the recent developments in Armenia as well as the reforms that are being carried out by the government based on the wide mandate given by the people.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Greece touched upon a number of urgent international and regional issues.
