Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Madagascar

On September 26, the Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is participating in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York, met with Foreign Minister of Madagascar Eloi Maxime Dovo.

The Armenian Foreign Minister noted with satisfaction that in recent years, and especially since Armenia's membership in the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), the contacts and interaction between Armenia and Madagascar have evidently become more intensive.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the cooperation in various platforms, appreciating in particular the close cooperation within the framework of the International Organization of La Francophonie. Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia is greatly interested in further expansion of comprehensive partnership with the African continent and is ready to take practical steps towards fully realizing the existing potential for development of collaboration.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Madagascar exchanged views on steps aimed at development of bilateral relations, highlighting in this context the role of high-level reciprocal visits and contacts.

The Foreign Ministers discussed in details the preparations for the OIF Yerevan Summit, the agenda, the planned events and the documents to be submitted to participants for approval. Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed his counterpart on the priorities of Armenia's presidency in the organization and the initiatives to be put forward.
