Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan met with Rosemary Di Carlo, the United Nations Under Secretary-General

On July 19, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Rosemary Di Carlo, Head of the United Nations Political Department, Under-Secretary-General.

Armenian Foreign Minister attached importance to the established effective interaction with the UN in different spheres, underlining the readiness of the new government of Armenia to further deepen and expand its agenda.

At the request of the Under Secretary-General, Foreign Minister of Armenia presented recent internal political developments in Armenia and the priorities of the new Government's programme. Minister underlined that, based on the broad mandate given by the people, the Government is determined to continue the reform process in the country aimed at ensuring justice, the rule of law, equal opportunities in economic and social areas, and the fight  against corruption.

In the context of efforts towards holding snap elections Zohrab Mnatsakanyan highlighted the active and effective cooperation between international partners, including the United Nations Development Programme and UN agencies in this regard.

Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the approaches and priorities of the Armenian side for the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as the outcomes of the introductory meeting with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan held in Brussels.
