Foreign Minister received the CIS Executive Secretary

On July 6, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Sergey Lebedev, Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the role of CIS in developing the cooperation between member states and will continue its active engagement in all the directions of organisation’s activities.

Sergey Lebedev highly assessed Armenia's participation in the organization's initiatives and commended the traditionally active cooperation with the representatives of Armenia in this regard.

Foreign Minister of Armenia and the CIS Executive Secretary exchanged views on the cultural cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, emphasizing in this context naming of Goris as the CIS cultural capital for 2018.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Sergey Lebedev discussed the preparations for the forthcoming sessions of the CIS statutory bodies.

Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed the CIS Executive Secretary on the internal political developments in Armenia, foreign policy priorities outlined in the Government's programme, reiterating Armenia's commitment to continue active participation in the cooperation within the CIS framework, including development of bilateral relations with the CIS countries.
