On 5 May, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian met with Bundestag Christian Democratic Party MP Jurgen Klimke and Manfred Grund, who are in Armenia on to carry out observation mission during the parliamentary elections to be held on May 6.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian noted that in recent years the cooperation between Armenia and Germany has considerably expanded. The Minister stressed the importance of the opening of German language training center in Yerevan recently and expressed hope that it would give new impetus to bilateral relations.

The sides discussed the ways to deepen the Armenian-German cooperation in political, economic, cultural and scientific spheres.

Minister Nalbandian reaffirmed the Armenian authorities’ commitment to hold elections in accordance with international standards, stressing that the large scale reforms were implemented in cooperation with international organizations for achieving that goal.

Upon the request of the guest, Minister Nalbandian presented the recent developments in the negotiations over the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
