The Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Tomasz Poręba, the European Parliament’s standing reporter on issues of Armenia
20 December, 2010On December 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received the European Parliamentary delegation headed byTomasz Poręba, the European Parliament’s standing reporter on issues of Armenia, representative of Poland’s European Conservatives and Reformists’ faction.
Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian mentioned that the visit to Armenia is a good opportunity to make acquaintance with both Armenia and the region directly, as well as the current developments in the relations between Armenia and the European Union. The interlocutors stressed the importance of the parliamentary contacts and the necessity of continuing to undertake steps towards promoting the inter-parliamentary relations.
They also touched upon the results of the meeting of the Armenia-EU Council and the Foreign Ministers of the Eastern Partnership Program held in December, as well as the negotiations over the Armenia-EU Association Agreement.
In the course of meeting, the sides exchanged views on the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) issue settlement. The deputy of the European Parliament shared his impressions from the visit to Artsakh and meetings with the leadership of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
