The Foreign Affairs Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received the Mayor of Montréal Gérald Tremblay

 On October 28, the Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandian received the delegation led by the Mayor of Montréal Gérald Tremblay.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian highly appreciated the recent intensification of the bilateral relations between Canada and Armenia and expressed hope that it will serve as a good background for the comprehensive development of cooperation. By the words of Edward Nalbandian, the Armenian-Canadian interaction also is productive in international organizations and the visit of the Mayor of Montréal to Armenia would contribute to the decentralized cooperation between the two countries, too.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the Mayor of Montréal mentioned that the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding signed today gave a new impetus to the cooperation established between Yerevan and Montréal and is an actual expression of the friendly relations between Armenia and Canada. Gérald Tremblay stressed the contribution and role of the Armenian - Canadian Community in the deepening of cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides mutually expressed satisfaction with the recently made decision to hold the 31st Conference of the Francophone cities in Yerevan in 2011 and exchanged views on the decentralized cooperation within the frameworks of the International Organization of Francophone.
