09 July, 2010

Question: Mr. Kocharyan, today the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan stated that on 16th or 17th of July in Almaty a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan would take place, during which the main subject of discussions would be the withdrawal of the forces from Lachin and Kelbajar. Do those statements correspond to reality?

Answer: Instead of speaking about the agreements reached on the level of Presidents in St. Petersburg, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan continues to present his baseless wishes for a reality.
The withdrawal of the Karabakhi forces from any territory is out of the question until Azerbaijan agrees to accept the status of Karabakh in accordance with the results of expression of will of the people of Nagorno Karabakh and expresses readiness to withdraw its armed forces from the occupied territories of the NKR.
