On June 8, Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Austria Michael Postl on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Minister Nalbandian congratulated Ambassador Postl on the occasion of his appointment and expressed hope that he would have his important contribution to the strengthening of the Armenian-Austrian friendly relations.

Foreign Minister gave importance to the undertaking of steps aimed at the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in different areas. Within this context, Edward Nalbandian mentioned that the visit of the Foreign Minister of Austria Michael Spindelegger to Armenia in the second half of June would give a new impulse to the Armenian-Austrian relations, particularly given to the fact that a high-level delegation of Austrian businessmen will accompany the Minister and a business forum will take place.

Ambassador Michael Postl, expressing gratitude for the wishes, underlined that Austria is attaching great importance to the development of comprehensive relations with Armenia and assured that he would spare no effort for that purpose.
Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Postl exchanged views on the relations between Armenia and the European Union, as well as the regional issues of the South Caucasus.
