28 May, 2010On May 28, the 22nd meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member-states of Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was held in Sofia under the Chairmanship of Bulgaria, which was preceded by the session of the Committee of Senior officials of the member-states of the Organization on May 26-27.
The official delegation of the Republic of Armenia was headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Arman Kirakossian. The Armenia Deputy Foreign Minister delivered a speech on the practic participation of Armenia in the implementation of the priorities of the BSEC Bulgarian chairmanship.
In the result of the session, the Council of the Foreign Ministers of the BSEC member-states adopted about thirty decisions on the promotion of economic cooperation within the framework of the BSEC primary agenda. An important decision was adopted on the further development of the BSEC-EU interaction. At the end of the meeting, the ceremony of handover of the BSEC rotating chairmanship took place.
On May 28, Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakossian met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Bulgaria Marin Raykov. They discussed issues of the agenda of the Armenian-Bulgarian bilateral relations, particularly, the preparatory works of the session of the Armenian-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission and Business Forum, which are to be held in September 2010 in Yerevan, as well as the events, being held within the framework of the Armenian Cultural Days in Bulgaria.
The two also hailed the holding regular political consultations, the expansion of economic cooperation and the organization of high-level mutual visits.
