On May 14, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Tina Kaidanow, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs.

Welcoming the guest, the Armenian Foreign Minister said that Armenia gives importance  to the deepening of comprehensive relations and strengthening of friendly partnership and cooperation with the United States and stressed that the visit of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan to Washington in April and the meeting with the US President Barack Obama gave a new stimulus for the development of bilateral relations.

Minister Nalbandian and Deputy Assistant Secretary Kaidanow had detailed talks on the perspectives of further expansion of the Armenian-American relations.

In her turn, Tina Kaidanow mentioned that Armenia is an important partner of the United States and the US Administration looks forward to continue partnership with Armenia in establishing regional stability, promoting economic development, implementation of reforms.

The two touched upon the process of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.

Edward Nalbandian and Tina Kaidanow exchanged views on the recent developments in the negotiations on the settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) issue.
