04 May, 2010On May 4, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received the delegation of the French city of Villeurbanne headed by the Mayor Jean-Paul Bret.
Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian highly appreciated the personal contribution of Jean-Paul Bret in the enhancement and development of the Armenian-French friendship as both the Mayor, and the former Deputy, and Chairman of the Armenia-France Parliamentary Group, which was also the co-author of the bill on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide adopted by the National Assembly of France.
Mayor Jean-Paul Bret mentioned that Armenia and the Armenians are treated with specific warmth in the whole France, as well as in Villeurbanne, and the main aim of his visit is to expand the Armenian-French cooperation and promote the development of relationship between the two countries.
The two attached importance to the decentralized cooperation between the cities and regions of Armenia and France, which already includes nearly 50 cities and regions.
