Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbnadian meets the OSCE Chairperson-in-office Kanat Saudabayev
16 February, 2010On February 16, Foreign Minister of Armenia had a meeting with Kanat Saudabayev, Secretary of State – Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office who was in Armenia with a working visit.
The negotiations started with a tete-a-tete meeting and continued with participation of the delegations.
Welcoming the guest, Edward Nalbandian highly appreciated the relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan mentioning that the two countries has a great potential for the further development and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation existing in different formats.
Minister Saudabayev thanked for warm reception and the support of Armenia for the initiatives of Kazakhstan’s Chairmanship in OSCE.
The parties discussed a number of regional and international issues, touched upon the cooperation of the two countries within international organizations.
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Kanat Saudabayev exchanged views on issues concerning the Organization’s activity, the increase of its efficiency and the strengthening of the European security. They both attached importance to the role of OSCE in the maintenance of stability and security, the strengthening of democratic processed and human rights protection.
Ministers touched upon the recent developments in the negotiations on the settlement of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) issue by emphasizing the role of the Minsk Group in the process of peaceful settlement of the issue.
Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Kazakhstan also discussed the steps aimed at the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
The meeting was followed by the joint press conference.
