Edward Nalbandian meets with the representatives of American Armenian community
30 September, 2009The visit of Foreign Minister of Armenia to New York has been full of meetings with the representatives of American Armenian organizations.
During the reception hosted in honour of Armenian Foreign Minister at the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America by the Primate Archbishop Khajag Parsamian, Edward Nalbandian presented to the representatives of the Armenian communities in New York and New Jersey the issues of the Armenian foreign policy and ways of their settlement, as well as touched upon the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and the settlement of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) issue, answered numerous questions of the participants.
At the meeting with Berge Setrakian, President of Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenian Foreign Minister discussed issues concerning the organization’s activity in Armenian and Diaspora, projects implemented in the fileds of the preserving of Armenian identity, as well as in cultural area. The two exchanged views on the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
Edward Nalbandian also met the leadership of Armenian Assembly of America and discussed relationship between Armenia and the USA, the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and recent developments in the negotiations process on the settlement of Artsakh (Nagrono Karabakh) issue.
In course of the visit, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, the Prelate of the American Eastern Prelacy of the Catholicasate of the Great House of Cilicia. During the conversation, they discussed issues concerning the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
